Meet the workhorse launch vehicle

Daytona II builds upon the knowledge from Daytona I to create a mass manufactured expendable two-stage rocket designed and manufactured by Phantom Space, capable of reliable transport of satellites and other space cargo into Earth orbit and beyond. The Daytona II first stage propulsion system replaces Daytona I's 9 Hadley engines with 1 Ripley engine.  Stage two propulsion remains the same as Daytona I.

Payload

The fairing is designed to protect satellites and spacecraft on their way to orbit. We support a wide variety of payloads, from cube sats to ESPA class satellites or any other custom spacecraft.

Length

First Stage

The first stage utilizes Ripley x 1 engines to power the first part of the journey into space.

Diameter

Second Stage

Shortly after first stage separation, the second stage ignites to bring Daytona into orbit. The second stage uses a single vacuum-optimized Hadley engine, and contains the avionics and all necessary computing required to travel to, through, and back from space.

Diameter

1.5 m / 4.9 ft

Thrust

28.8 kN / 6470 lbf

1st Stage Engine

The Ripley engines developed by Ursa Major are pump-fed ultra-high efficiency 3D printed rocket engines.
The engines use liquid oxygen (LOX) and rocket propellant-1 (RP-1) as fuel.
